Sergio continues to make great strides in recovery. The medical team feel that he is in a good position to try and go onto a trachea collar for short periods of time throughout the day. This basically means that his ventilator will be shutoff and effectively he will be breathing completely on his own. The first trail went better than expected as Sergio didn’t require any suctioning. It’s all very positive news, with Sergio once again proving that he is strong enough to pass these trials with flying colors. The plan tomorrow is to increase the amount of time that he will be on his new trachea collar.
Sergio sigue haciendo grandes progresos en su recuperación. El equipo médico siente que es un buen momento para tratar de ir retirando la tráquea durante cortos períodos de tiempo durante el día. Esto básicamente significa que su ventilador estará apagado y efectivamente él respirara completamente por su cuenta. La primera vez fue mejor de lo esperado ya que a Sergio no se le hizo ninguna aspiración. Todo son noticias muy positivas, con Sergio demostrando una vez más que es lo suficientemente fuerte para pasar estas pruebas con éxito. El plan mañana es aumentar la cantidad de tiempo que va a estar con su nuevo collar de la tráquea.
