Unfortunately Sergio has been refluxing quite a bit over the last few days. Yesterday they did a G tube study and it clearly showed that some of the content of his stomach was refluxing up his esophagus. This is not good news. The Doctors stopped his peg feeds afterwards and Dr Jennings and Dr Foker will examine the results and hopefully formulate a plan to stop the reflux. The strange thing is that Sergio is looking great for most of the time and is becoming more active with each passing day. It’s only when he has the reflux that he begins to gag a little bit and throws up a small amount of his peg feeds.
Lamentablemente Sergio ha tenido bastante reflujo en los últimos días. Ayer se hizo un estudio de la sonda en el estomago y mostraba claramente que parte del contenido de su estómago hasta su esófago tenia reflujo. Esto no es una buena noticia. Los médicos detuvieron su alimentacion y Dr. Jennings y Dr Foker examinarán los resultados y esperemos que formulen un plan para detener el reflujo. Lo extraño es que Sergio esta muy contento la mayoría de las veces y esta más activo cada día que pasa. Es sólo cuando tiene el reflujo que empieza a gargarear un poco y lanza una pequeña cantidad de su alimentación.
