Sergio O’Connor’s family would like to thank Willie Lyons and his family; Barry, Brian and Neill for organising a super night of ‘White Collar Boxing’ in Innis Fail’s GAA Club on the 21 April.
There was a great atmosphere and the boxing was tremendously exciting. The boxers spent months preparing and it showed in the ring; they were fit as fiddles. Musicians Tomás Ó Broin and Cormac Chambers gave it their all. Members of the Bonny Men showed their mettle when Barry Lyons and Adam Whelan gave an all mighty performance.
Young Fiachra Potts in his first bout gave a good account of himself, cheered on by his family. It was acknowledged by most people present that the female boxers excelled on the night and it was a very exciting bout. The MC Tony Canning did an excelent job as did the referee, Eddie. The night was rounded off with a raffle and supper.
One of the highlights was the appearance of ‘Elvis’ during the night. We would also like to thank all the other people who made the night such a success.
La familia de Sergio O’Connor le gustaría dar las gracias a Willie Lyon y su familia, Barry, Brian y Neill por la organización de una noche estupenda de “boxeo de cuello blanco” en Innis Falla Club GAA dada el 21 de abril.
Hubo un gran ambiente y el boxeo fue tremendamente emocionante. Los boxeadores han pasado meses preparandose y lo demostraron en el ring, estaban en plena forma. Los músicos Tomás Ó Broin y Cormac Chambers lo dieron todo. Los miembros de “The Bonny Men” mostraron su temple cuando Barry Lyons y Adam Whelan actuaron todo poderosos.
El joven Fiachra Potts en su primera pelea dio buena cuenta de sí mismo, alentado por su familia. Se ha reconocido por la mayoría de las personas presentes que las boxeadoras sobresalieron en la noche y fue una pelea muy emocionante. El MC Tony Canning hizo un excelente trabajo al igual que el árbitro, Eddie. La noche se completó con una rifa y una cena.
Uno de los aspectos más destacados fue la aparición de ‘Elvis’ durante la noche. También nos gustaría dar las gracias a todas las demás personas que hicieron de esta noche un éxito.
