Big day for Sergio today with the move out of the intensive care unit and up to the 10th floor. He has been in this unit since his arrival 211 days ago and so everyone is delighted for him to be leaving. We are going to miss the wonderful staff who have cared for Sergio for so long. In particular, Sergio is going to really miss his primary nurse, Jenn, who has been so incredible in looking after him. The transition went very smoothly and we are very fortunate to have been transferred to a large room. This means that the twins will have plenty of space to play with each other. Our cousin Katie came to visit us in our new room. The other exciting news is that Sergio's trachea is to be downsized once again today. He is doing amazingly well with both the speaking valve and capping sessions. The disappointing news is that Sergio is still having some reflux and vomiting episodes mostly in the morning time.
Gran día hoy el de Sergio desde el traslado de la unidad de cuidados intensivos hasta el piso 10. Él ha estado enla UCI desde su llegada hace 211 días y todo el mundo está encantado por lo que se iba. Pero vamos aechar de menos el maravilloso personal que ha estado cuidando a Sergio durante tanto tiempo. En particular, Sergio va a echar de menos a su enfermera principal, Jenn, que ha estado increíble cuidando de Sergio. El traslado fue muy bien y nos sentimos muy afortunados de haber sido trasladados a una habitación grande. Esto significa que los gemelos tienen un montón de espacio para jugar entre ellos. Otras noticias buenas es que hoy se ha reducido el tamano otra vez de la traquea para poder quitarla en un futuro del todo. Él está haciendo increíblemente bien tanto con la válvula de hablar y las sesiones de nivelación. Lo decepcionante es que Sergio sigue teniendo algunos episodios de reflujo y vómitos sobre todo por la mañana.
