At 8am Sergio went once again down to the operating room to complete his operation. It was much harder this time around to see him leave for his surgery due to his weakened and delicate state, knowing the harsh reality that he would be on the operating table for a further ten hours or so.
Sergio was brought back to his room at 7pm, looking quite shook-up to be honest. However the surgeons are saying that despite the length of time it took to complete, overall they are happy with the outcome of the procedure. They said that it will take a long time for Sergio to recovery from two straight days of surgery and therefore will be paralysised for at least four consecutive days. He has been put through a lot over the last few months but I can truly say that the last two days have been the toughest on him physically.
The entire medical staff at the hospital have been absolutely amazing and they have worked so hard and long to ensure that Sergio receives the best care and attention. We are totally indebted to these gifted people for their immense dedication.
A las 8am Sergio se fue de nuevo a la sala de operaciones para completar la operación. Era mucho más difícil esta vez verlo salir de su intervención quirúrgica debido a su delicado estado de debilidad y, conociendo la dura realidad de que él estaría en la mesa de operaciones por un período de diez horas mas o menos.
Sergio fue llevado de vuelta a su habitación a las 19:00, con un aspecto muy deteriorado siendo honesto. Sin embargo, los cirujanos dijeron que a pesar de la cantidad de tiempo que se tardó en terminar, en general están satisfechos con el resultado del procedimiento. Dijeron que pasara mucho tiempo para que Sergio se recupere de dos días consecutivos de cirugía y por lo tanto se le mantendra en coma inducido durante al menos cuatro días consecutivos. Ha pasado por mucho en los últimos meses, pero puedo decir que los dos últimos días han sido los más duros físicamente.
Todo el personal médico del hospital ha sido absolutamente increíble y han trabajado muy duro y largo para asegurarse de que Sergio recibe el mejor cuidado y atención. Estamos totalmente en deuda con estas personas dotadas por su dedicación inmensa.
